Aikido practice involves working with a partner to practice techniques which utilize a partner's momentum and the manipulation of their joints to off-balance them.
There is no competition or sparring and training is done in a cooperative and friendly manner.
Aikido is a good tool for developing flexibility, core body strength and balance.
The Monday and Friday classes consist of hand and weapons techniques, with Wednesday classes focusing on using the bokken (wooden sword) and jo (staff).
New students are welcome to join in at anytime during the year and the first session is free. Loose fitting comfortable clothing is recommended.
